Two other great leadership opportunities include iROAR and ULead. Find out more about these events below.
iROAR is a freshman leadership day. In July, all first year students receive an email to their suny.oneonta.edu account inviting them to apply to become a member of iROAR. Interested students need to fill out a short application form by the designated deadline as there is only space for 60 students.
Why attend iROAR?
-Meet other student leaders
-Familiarize yourself with campus
-Get a head start on LEAD@Oneonta
-Learn about e-board of residence hall government positions and Student Association Senator positions, and Freshmen Class e-board positions
-Gather knowledge on student activism
-Start the process of self-discovery and much, much more!
ULead is a five week series that will examine social justice, identities, and co-curricular campus leadership. For many students their social identity or lived experience directly impacts their co-curricular involvement and leadership. Throughout the five week series, the facilitators will enhance students' knowledge of the following areas: social identity and intersectionality, leadership theory, spirituality/religion, race, social class, as well as gender and sexuality.
Interested students need to complete a short online application by the designated deadline. Students who are chosen to participate in ULead will receive several LEAD credits, including the Foundations of Leadership credit. Students will be given a ULead journal and a certificate of completion.
