Instructions and cover letter requirements

Please review the general duties and expectations of the Student Building Manager

For proper consideration please be sure to send all completed materials including application, resume, and cover letter by 4:00pm Monday February 27, 2012 to Robb Thibault, Hunt Union Director Room 220C or by email thibaurr@oneonta.edu.

Please include 3 professional or work references including telephone number, email address and title. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Student Managers who are hired for the fall positions receive the first offers to work in the summer if so interested.

In your cover letter you must address all of the following:

Describe your leadership style.

Explain how your skills and experiences will help you perform the general duties required.

Describe what a college union is and why it’s important to you?

Please highlight what you feel the Hunt College Union does well and what can be improved.

Describe your involvement with extra-curricular activities and how much time you spend each week in student clubs and organizations.

Discuss your philosophy of customer service.

Training for selected new Student Managers begins in Mid April.

Student Managers are expected to arrive 5-6 days before the start of school in August for fall training.

This date will be announced before you leave for summer break.
