Co-curricular Activities
The College’s program of co-curricular activities is an important extension of the total college experience. The various activities are designed to enrich the meaning of higher education for each student by providing both general and special opportunities for involvement. The student participates in programs on a basis of personal desire and free choice.
The student must use perspective to ensure that investment of time and energy in co-curricular activities remains reasonable. This is especially pertinent to the student who is offered positions of leadership. She/he must evaluate the demands of the jobs and make careful judgment of the willingness to undertake the full obligation to be an active contributor to the group.
The various organizations should recognize that they contribute to the pro-gram of the College. Their activities should be in harmony with the policies, practices, and goals of the College and the rules of the community. In addi-tion, they should recognize their obligations to enrich student life by provid-ing a variety of programs. This may, on occasion, call upon them to initiate new activities or develop more ambitious aspirations. They should constantly seek to evaluate their effectiveness and their purpose.
