SUNY Pride Conference 2013

GOOD NEWS! Special Early Bird Registration SUNY student prices have been extended until Oct. 11th, 5pm (or until funding lasts)! Please see registration wesbite for more details.

The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) and the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) at SUNY Oneonta are happy to announce the first ever SUNY Pride Conference at Hunt College Union in Oneonta on October 11th-13th, 2013! Delegates from all SUNY system campuses are invited to attend this landmark conference.

Click here to register. If you are a confirmed SUNY Oneonta Volunteer, you do not need to register. You will be emailed with more information about volunteering.

If you are not ready to register, but would like to let us know of your intention to register, please do so here.

The mission of SUNY Pride is to unite together these campuses to create a more inclusive environment for the SUNY system as a whole. Through education, collaboration, networking, and inclusivity, SUNY Pride will encourage students and faculty to become au courant with each other’s policies, facilities, accessibilities, and trainings.

For students we will offer networking, opportunities to attend and present on a variety of issues relevant to abundant gender and sexual identities (healthcare, athletics, Greek Life, faith issues, intersectional identities to name a few) and plenty of time to relax and have fun!

For faculty and staff mentors we will offer time to collaborate on gender and sexuality sensitivity trainings, a chance to attend workshops, networking opportunities (and yes, also time to have fun)!

To assess the needs of sexual and gender communities within the SUNY system, we also invite you to complete the Campus Pride Index via the Campus Pride Website.  Collecting data on marginalized communities can offer the first step to addressing these issues throughout the SUNY system.
