Orientation for Freshman Students

Congratulations on making SUNY Oneonta the destination for your academic future. In order to make that future a reality, all new students are required to attend an orientation session before they begin attending classes. The College offers orientation sessions in July and August for students planning to enter the College in the fall semester. Students will receive the same information and appropriate advisement at all sessions. The dates for Orientation 2013 are July 2-3, 8-9, 11-12, 15-16, 18-19, 22-23 and August 25-27.

Information on how to enroll in a session will be mailed to each student's permanent address in the spring. The orientation enrollment pages will not be active until after the invitations have been mailed.

As you review the dates, please keep in mind that we are only able to accommodate 140 students at each of the July sessions. These sessions do fill up and close, so students need to respond promptly. We do not take walk-in registration at any orientation session; students must enroll in a session. We are also able to offer a concurrent orientation program for parents/adult family members at the July orientation session. This option will incur a separate fee.
