ALUMNI STEERING COMMITTEE
General Duties & Responsibilities
Note: All duties,
responsibilities and activities will be in consultation with the
College at Oneonta Office of Alumni Affairs and the EOP
Department as represented by the EOP Alumni Coordinator, EOP
Director, and Associate Director of Alumni Affairs. Each of the four positions has a two-year obligation, except for the Vice Chair who has a four-year obligation (the elected Vice Chair becomes Chair after two-years).

Recruits more active members
from all EOP graduates

Schedules meetings of the
Steering Committee and Network Membership and determines
agenda

Consults on development and
maintenance of the Network website

Seeks external financial
support
Chairperson

Provides sustained
leadership

Executes actions of Network

Speaks on behalf of the
Network

Seeks input and prepares
agendas for Steering Committee and Network meetings

Acts as liaison with the EOP
Department and College at Oneonta
Vice Chairperson

Supports the leadership of
the Chairperson

Acts in place of the
Chairperson when s/he is unavailable

Other duties as requested by
the Chairperson

Confirms the final meeting
agenda and brings it to meetings

Succeeds the Chair in next
term
Secretary

Distributes tentative agenda
two weeks prior to meetings and forwards changes to the
Chair

Keeps and distributes
minutes

Maintains electronic and
hardcopy archives of agendas and minutes

Takes meeting attendance

Oversees a roster of
membership including gathering updated contact information

Releases scheduled updates
to EOP Department secretary

Coordinator will assist with all duties
Events Specialist

Plans and implements
off-campus Network events in collaboration with the Office
of Alumni Affairs

Collaborates with the Office
of Alumni Affairs concerning Alumni Association events

Organizes fundraising
activities including one main event, annually, in
cooperation with the Financial Officer and Office of Alumni
Affairs
Financial Officer

Maintains records of Network
funds
-
Processes financial
activities (e.g. receipts, payables)
-
Collaborates with the Events
