Mark Rice Ph.D. is the Director of the Counseling Center and a Licensed Psychologist in the state of New York.  He joined the staff in 2000.  Prior to joining the college staff he worked in a variety of mental health settings, including a college counseling center, outpatient substance abuse, community mental health and private practice.  Dr. Rice earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University and is a licensed psychologist in the State of New York.  He is a generalist who enjoys working with all kinds of students and issues, and his particular professional interests include hypnosis, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, men’s issues, dream interpretation, and existential psychology.  In his spare time he enjoys guitar, tennis, basketball, tai chi, gardening, hiking, meditation and music.

Melissa Fallon Ph.D.  is the Assistant Director of the Counseling Center. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany and is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of New York. She also holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Education degree in counseling psychology from Columbia University Teacher’s College.  She worked as a counselor and researcher in higher education and community mental health prior to joining the staff in 2003. Her professional interests include working with student athletes, GLBTQ populations, body image and gender role issues. She enjoys various sports and is an avid music fan.

Jeanne Keahon, LMSW has a Master's degree in social work from SUNY Albany and is a licensed social worker. She has worked in a variety of mental health, substance abuse, and hospital based settings. She joined the Counseling Center in 1997. Her clinical interests include family systems theory, women's issues and working with international students. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities such as hiking and fossil collecting.  She makes the best of our upstate winters by cross country skiing and skijoring with her Siberian Huskies.

Kerry Wagner, LMSW has a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Alcohol and Other Drugs from the University at Buffalo and is a licensed social worker. She has worked in a variety of higher education, mental health and substance abuse settings including a Fellowship at Yale University. Prior to her arrival to SUNY Oneonta in 2007 she was the Residential Student Social Service Coordinator at Buffalo State College. Her professional interests include working with students with alcohol and other drug issues, depression and anxiety in women, relationship issues and group work. Kerry enjoys playing a variety of sports especially volleyball and rollerblading. She also loves the outdoors, baking, and kicking back and enjoying a good movie!

Amy Clarvoe Ph.D. has a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University at Buffalo. She has worked in a variety of higher education and community mental health settings before joining the staff in 2008. Her professional interests include depression and anxiety; grief and loss; sleep issues; relationship problems; difficulties with attention and focus; and group work. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs. She loves hiking, biking, and just being outdoors.

Jan Cramatte is the secretary/ receptionist and the initial contact person at the Counseling Center. Jan answers the phone and helps set up appointments, and  greets students when they come for appointments.  Jan lives in Schenevus and has a 19 year old daughter who attends college at SUNY Oneonta. Jan's hobbies include reading, hiking with her dogs, and spending time outdoors.

Laurie Rushlow M.S. is a predoctoral intern at the counseling center. The internship is her final step in completing her requirements for her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology (in Chicago).  Laurie graduated from SUNY Oswego with a B.A. in psychology and a M.S. in Human Services/Counseling.    Laurie comes to the Counseling Center with a wide range of clinical experiences.  She has worked as a master’s level clinician, and has gained experience through her doctoral level training in a variety of settings, including: community mental health centers, hospitals, a domestic violence agency, and a college counseling center.  Her professional interests include: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, severe mental illness, women’s issues, and working with students of diverse backgrounds.  In her spare time, Laurie enjoys nature, advocating for reform, reality TV, shopping, and going green.

Emma Wood M.A. is a predoctoral intern and is currently working towards her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. She received a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University and her Bachelor's degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, in Interdisciplinary Studies: Art, Music and Psychology. Emma believes that creativity and self-expression are important to the healing process. Emma is an advocate for mentally ill individuals and was recently awarded the Midwestern University Behavioral Medicine Program Humanitarian Award. Prior to joining the Counseling Center, she worked in a variety of settings practicing mental health counseling as well as psychological testing. Emma recognizes the importance of both past and present life events and strives to facilitate growth and insight through creating a warm and accepting therapeutic space for her clients. Her specific interests are in the areas of identity development, self esteem, and interpersonal relationships. In her spare time Emma enjoys watching documentaries, playing with her dogs, and exploring the creative arts.

Erika Frank B.A. is a Social Work Intern at the counseling center. She is currently working to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Binghamton University, which is where she also received her B.A. in Psychology.  Erika’s professional interests include working with individuals who experience problems with relationships, alcohol and substance abuse, depression, and anxiety.  She is also very interested in the mind-body connection, promoting self-care, and working with groups.  Her professional experience comes in the form of case management for children and families and counseling in a drug and alcohol clinic.  In her leisure time, Erika teaches fitness and Tribal Style Belly Dancing classes.  She also enjoys learning more about alternative methods to healing.
