Come to room 101 of Counseling, Health & Wellness Building

The secretary will give you a simple form
to fill out and a "Welcome Pamphlet". You should arrive 15 minutes
before your appointment time to complete the intake form or you may
download
the intake form and welcome brochure and complete it before you arrive.

Your counselor will greet you and escort
you to his or her office.
What you talk about the first time will depend
on you and where you want to start. Your counselor may ask a few questions
to understand your concerns and to get to know you a little better. You can ask
questions too.
Counselors understand that it may be
uncomfortable talking about yourself at first. Your counselor can help you start
the conversation.
Your contact with the counseling center will be confidential. This means that no information is shared with parents, faculty, or friends
without your permission. However, there are several legally mandated exceptions to therapist-client confidentiality, including situations in which the client may be a danger to themselves or others and situations in which neglect or abuse of a child is suspected.
