AOD Committee

Our Mission

The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Committee is a joint collaboration of students, staff, and faculty to work on initiatives to decrease high-risk alcohol and other drug use by SUNY Oneonta students. The committee aims to educate the campus about current AOD issues and correct misperceptions about AOD use and utilizes an environmental approach to prevention. The committee organizes and sponsors Alcohol Awareness Week and Safe Spring Break Campaigns as well oversees many other prevention initiatives led by OSC staff and students.

The committee also sponsors the CORE Survey every two years to identify attitudes and patterns of AOD use on Oneonta’s campus. Committee members are actively involved in the Campus-Community partnership to increase prevention efforts beyond just those on campus.
