Oneonta State Cheerleading
Volunteer Work
 |
The O-State cheerleaders hold an
annual clinic for cheerleader youths, as well as a separate clinic
for older aspiring cheerleaders. |
 |
For the younger clinic (usually
K-6) the girls teach the young cheerleaders a basic cheer, dance and
jumps as well as take part in an interactive craft and games. Later
that afternoon, they perform what they learned throughout the day at
the men's basketball game during halftime. |
 |
The older girls clinic (high school)
is taught much the same, however, on a more advanced level with an
added section of stunting/mounting, and optional tumbling. The OSC
cheerleaders help aid the girls with any questions or ideas they may
have for their team. And at the end of the day, there is one final
performance by the high school girls of what their teams learned and
liked best. |
 | The OSC squad looks forward to
these events for they become mentors of many younger girls for the
day while helping out their community, and just recently this summer
the OSC E-board held a day camp for girls (K-6) for three days. The
turn out was a success and the Oneonta State cheerleaders were
thrilled to spend there summer days having fun and teaching the many
beautiful young ladies. |
