Teacher Recruitment Days (TRD)

WHEN: March 26th and 27th 2012

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: December 2011, May 2012, and August 2012 graduating Education and Counselor Education majors

****** Some candidates attending TRD will NOT end up with interviews. Every year some students attend TRD and leave without having had any interviews. This year that percentage could be 50% or higher. Students who do not obtain interviews are usually those certified in areas where the teacher demand is lower – for example childhood/elementary education and physical education AND who choose to consider employment only with districts in a limited geographic region. By limited geographic region we mean for example, Central New York or in some instances, even all of New York State. Please be aware that no interview guarantees come with attending CNY-TRD. If you are certified in lower need subject areas (particularly elementary/childhood education or physical education) and you only consider districts in New York State, you might not obtain interviews. Conversely, if you consider interviewing with out-of-state districts, your chances of obtaining interviews will be much greater. Students with certifications in higher demand areas including math, science, dual certifications with special education etc… and who are geographically flexible may be able to obtain multiple interviews.******
