SUNY Oneonta offers Preprofessional Programs in Prelaw, Premedicine, Predentistry, and Preveterinary fields which require a declared major in one of the degrees below. SUNY Oneonta offers dual degrees in cooperation with other Colleges and Universities, often in the form of a four or five year plan. A brief description of these are included below. For further information on any of these programs, please contact the department which offers it.

Additionally, SUNY Oneonta offers several 2-2 and 2-1 programs in cooperation with the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in the fields of Cardiovascular Perfusion, Medical Imaging Sciences, Medical Technology, Radiation Therapy, Respiratory Care, and Cytotechnology. In order to take part in this program, a declared major is not required, but a specific course schedule is. Students should contact the Health Professions Advisement Coordinator early in their first year to plan course schedules.

3-1 F.I.T. Program

Students accepted into this program from the Business & Economics department  may study one of the following topics: Textile Development & Marketing, Advertising & Marketing Communications or Fashion Merchandising Management. Students accepted from the Human Ecology Department may study from these additional topics as well: Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, Communications Design, Textile/Surface Design, or Accessories Design.


3-2 Engineering Program

This 5 year program is available in cooperation with the following colleges: SUNY Buffalo, the Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University, the Ceramic Engineering School at Alfred University, Polytechnic University, Clarkson University, RPI, and Syracuse University.
