Visit Types and Descriptions

Information Sessions

Information sessions provide a presentation by an Admissions Professional followed by a campus tour.
Saturday sessions are only offered during the school year.
*Please follow signs, once on campus to the location of your presentation.

Weekday Campus Tours
Allow about an hour and a half for the tour, and don't forget your walking shoes!
Tours are usually offered Monday-Friday
11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:00pm when classes are in session.  Location:  Alumni Hall, Admissions Office

Summer Hours: Monday - Friday 11:00am and 2:00pm only.

Individual Interviews

Interviews with Admissions Counselors are offered by advanced appointment. Interviews are not required for Admission.  If you would like an interview, we recommend you schedule it for after your campus tour.  Please call 1-800-SUNY-123  to schedule your campus tour and interview.

Class Visits:
For High School Seniors and Transfer students who would like to sit in on a class while visiting please fill out the Open Class Registration Form. We will get back to you with all confirmations and information about your visit. Please register at least 1 week in advance to secure your choice. Classes are only offered Monday thru Friday.

Faculty Fridays:
In addition to our Information Sessions on selected Fridays you can remain on campus and join faculty for a department presentation, discussion and when available a department facilities tour.  The following Fridays will offer you the opportunity to meet with faculty from specified departments at 2:30pm:

Registration is required to attend and can be done by emailing Christine Dimon at dimonca@oneonta.edu or calling 800-SUNY-123 X2749.  Please be sure to let Christine know the date on which you plan to attend, which department presentation, your specific major of interest, and the total number of people who will be attending.   We look forward to your visit

Upon arrival to campus
Please obtain a parking permit when you check in at the Admissions Office in 118 Alumni Hall. Place your parking permit on your dashboard. Plan on arriving 15 minutes before your appointment to check in. Time permitting, we will send you a confirmation of your appointment/tour, driving directions, and a parking permit if you register by telephone.  If you register online, a parking permit should appear on your confirmation.

Group Visits:
Group visits are offered when classes are in session. These sessions typically consist of a campus tour and admissions presentation. We will do our best to accommodate the needs of all individual groups. Groups must register at least 3 weeks in advance by contacting Christine Dimon at dimonca@oneonta.edu or call
607-436-2749. For individual visit please call 800-SUNY-123 or go to our visit page to register online.

High School and College Visits: We also travel year round to different high schools, Colleges, and different fairs throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Check our travel schedule to see if we are near you.

Open Houses
Open House offers a wide range of programs and information. Academic departments and student services offices will be available. Workshops, campus tours and student representatives are important parts of Open House.

Transfer Day

Transfer day consists of a presentation on the admissions process, transfer credit and how to read your Credit Evaluation and Preliminary Advisement Document. Following the presentation you will have the chance to speak with our Transfer Counselors and current transfer students regarding any questions or concerns that you might have. You will also be able to tour our beautiful campus guided by current students.
