SUNY Oneonta is more than willing to accommodate any groups that would like to visit our campus. The approximately two-hour program may include an information session and a student-led walking tour of campus. An hour-long "tour only" option may be offered upon request. To submit an official request, group leaders are required to complete our online request form at least three weeks prior to desired visit. Once the request has been submitted, the group leader should hear back within 48 business hours.
Groups are expected to be well behaved and respect the campus property and the presenters/tour guides they will be working with. Visitors will be entering classroom buildings, residence halls and dining facilities where students will be carrying out their daily activities. It is important that visitors respect the property of students and the areas they will be visiting as our students consider the campus an extension of their home. Failure to adhere to the regulations will result in your school not being allowed to visit the campus the following year. Chaperones are expected to be with their group at all times.
1 Chaperone for every 10 students is required for visiting SUNY Oneonta.
Class Visits are a great way for high school seniors and transfer students to sit in on a class and see what it’s like to be an Oneonta student.
Registration for a Class Visit is required and must be made at least 7 days in advance. We will start accepting registrations in September.
Oneonta representatives travel to New York City throughout the year to give information sessions. Presentations include an overview of the application process, academics, and other opportunities offered at SUNY Oneonta.
Each fall and spring, SUNY Oneonta admissions counselors and staff hit the road to visit high schools and colleges throughout New York, as well as schools in New Jersey and Connecticut. See your High School Guidance or Career Office for date and time of our visit.
