Transferring CreditsCourse Equivalency WHEN WILL I KNOW WHICH OF MY CREDITS WILL TRANSFER? Soon after acceptance to the College, you will be mailed a preliminary evaluation of the credit you have earned at other institutions. The evaluation is based on the official transcript (s) sent from each college attended. The official transcript must arrive to the Admissions office from the college in a sealed envelope. A photocopy or faxed copy is not official. If you accept your offer of admission, it is required you have a FINAL, OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT(S) sent to the Office of Admissions. This transcript should:
It is important to get your final official transcript to us as soon as possible. Without them, we cannot complete your file, and we may not be able to admit you into certain programs. (like Education), and it will affect your financial aid disbursement and registration. Education Majors (transfer students): If you don't send a final official transcript showing a 2.8 cumulative GPA, you cannot declare Education as your Major, and you cannot come to orientation or register for education courses. WHAT IF SOME OF MY CREDITS DO NOT TRANSFER?
HOW MANY OF MY CREDITS WILL TRANSFER? We have on our website extensive information on our Articulation Agreements with many two year SUNY institutions as well as Course Equivalency information for most schools in the SUNY system. The number of credits you may transfer in depends on the type of institution you atteneded, and if you earned a degree.
* BA or BS degree from a 4 year institution waives General Educationi requirements. External credit programs: Advanced Placement (AP) test scores of 3 or better are accepted. Official AP transcripts are required. To request an AP transcript go to College Board or you may call 1(800) CALL-4-AP. AP equivalency chart. CLEP, DANTES, Armed Forces, and Regents College Exams are accepted. Specific policies can be found in the course catalog.
