Scholarships
Freshman Awards
All qualified freshman applicants are considered for a scholarship. The Scholarship Selection Committee will determine which students are eligible based on the selection criteria for individual awards and on information submitted as part of the admissions application, including the supplemental application or Common Application, in the case of financial need as a selection criteria, the (Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA).
For serious consideration for a scholarship, it is important to file the application for admission as early in the senior year of high school as possible. The first awards are made in mid-January. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be filed as soon after January 1 as possible.
The College at Oneonta recognizes that not every strong high school applicant will be awarded an academic scholarship due to the competitive nature of the process and the availability of funds. We encourage these students to apply for any of the additional scholarships offered to students through academic departments and the Financial Aid Office after they have successfully completed course work at Oneonta.
