Applying for Freshman Admission**Freshman Applications for FALL 2008 are CLOSED. Please call 800-SUNY-123 if you have any questions.**
Required Materials:
For freshman applicants, we examine past academic achievement as a strong factor in determining a prospective student's academic potential. Not only GPA and class rank, but types of classes taken, trends in grades, senior-year course-load, and Regents grades (for New York State applicants), are considered when making decisions.
Please be sure to have your official
high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores sent directly to the
Admissions Office. We use the highest standardized score from either
the SAT or ACT-(composite), even if the higher SAT Verbal/Critical
Reading and Math results were taken at different times. If you're
planning on retaking either exam, be sure to let us know when to
expect your new score. We are only using the Critical Reading and
Math portions of your SAT to make a decision. The writing/essay
portion is not being evaluated. This link will provide you a downloadable pdf version of the supplemental, or you can go to https://webservices.oneonta.edu/ and enter your ID number and pin to complete the supplemental online (your pin number is mailed to you after your application is received):
The majority of our freshman applicants will receive their decisions before the first week in April, depending on when they applied and of course whether the application is complete. Accepted students have until May 1 or 30 days from their acceptance, whichever is later, to accept their appointment to Oneonta as per the terms of the acceptance letter. All acceptance letters will have directions as to accepting your appointment. A deposit of $200 is required to reserve your place in our freshman class. After acceptance, you can pay your deposit online.
