FRESHMEN ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Once all required materials are received by the Office of Admissions, a committee consisting of Admissions and Educational Opportunity Program staff will review applications on a rolling basis until institutional enrollment goals are met.

Academic Eligibility

Cumulative high school average of 78 or higher or a GED score of 2380 or higher

Combined SAT score (Critical Reading and Math only) of 800 or higher or ACT composite score of 16 or higher

Students must be ineligible for admission to SUNY Oneonta under general admission requirements

Financial Eligibility

The EOP admissions committee will review an applicant's Family & Financial Questionnaire. Eligibility is assessed beginning with family income guidelines established by New York State for students entering in fall 2012. The table below lists financial eligibility requirements for EOP admission for students entering the fall 2012 academic year. Any subsequent changes to these guidelines will be posted here. In order to be determined economically disadvantaged, a student's household income must not exceed the amount shown for its size in the applicable category or the student's circumstances must conform to one of the exceptions indicated.

TRANSFER ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Academic Eligibility

A cumulative GPA at the most recent college attended of a 2.3 with at least 24 semester hours of credit-bearing coursework for most majors

A final cumulative GPA at the most recent college attended of a 2.8 for ALL education majors

Financial Eligibility

Must have been enrolled in an EOP/HEOP/SEEK/College Discovery program at his/her prior institution. A completed Transfer Verification Form must be submitted by the previous institution.

If an EOP-type program was not offered at the previous institution, a transfer applicant's eligibility will be assessed through a review of his/her Family & Financial Questionnaire.
