SUNY Oneonta reaches an audience of up to 87,000 people a week through our institutional Facebook page. The Office of Communications manages this page, as well as the college’s institutional Twitter and Instagram accounts, You Tube channel, and the My Oneonta Life Tumblr blog, which features user-submitted content about student life.
Social media services include content strategy and development, listening and relationship-building. We use words, images and videos to share news, start conversations, answer questions and promote the college. In the event of an emergency on campus, the Office of Communications issues important updates through the college’s institutional Facebook and Twitter channels.
The Office of Communications also provides advice on social media strategy and best practices, and collaborates with other campus social media users on content development, contests and campaigns. We maintain a directory of official SUNY Oneonta social media channels and address questions related to the college’s Social Media Policy.
