Welcome to the Assessment Network of New York (ANNY)!

ANNY is New York State's newest professional network, established to assist New York's colleges and universities in their efforts to assess student learning and institutional effectiveness. At this point in time, ANNY (and this website) is a work in progress, and we invite anyone who is interested in meaningful assessment in higher education to join with us and help shape our agenda, activities, and future. Membership and contact information is included on this page, and other links on the website provide more details on ANNY's origins and leadership, mission and core principles, and planned activities at this time.

Please check back regularly, because this website will change frequently!

Calling New Members!

Membership in ANNY is open to all postsecondary educators in New York State and the larger Middle States region with an interest in assessment in higher education. Faculty, staff, and administrators committed to advancing quality assessment in colleges and universities are welcome! We are now inviting all interested persons to join ANNY.  By doing so, you will:

  • Be added to ANNY’s mailing list and receive frequent updates on ANNY events and developments (including minutes from meetings of the ANNY Board of Directors) as well as other assessment-related issues across New York State;
  • Receive the ANNY Newsletter, an e-publication that is distributed 3-4 times annually and that contains much relevant and useful information on the assessment of student learning and institutional effectiveness; and
  • Have the opportunity to provide input into – and vote on – ANNY’s by-laws and operational policies and procedures.

At present, there is a $50 membership fee to join ANNY, with checks made out to ANNY/Oneonta Auxiliary Services. You can download the membership application form by clicking here. Please send check and application form to Dr. Michele Dornisch, Assessment Specialist, LIU Post and LIU Riverhead, B. Davis Schwartz Library, Room 30, 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, NY  11542.
