The Mission Statement

The mission of the State University College at Oneonta Foundation Corporation is to raise and administer gifts and grants to enhance the academic status of the College through endowment, scholarships, and institutional programs.

The History of the College at Oneonta Foundation

         The College at Oneonta Foundation was created March 19, 1982 by Dr. Clifford Craven, President of the College from 1970 -1987, and Henry Hulbert, a local attorney, to take the College in a new direction. They wanted to utilize the potential of alumni, friends of the College, and corporate and foundation support, to be able to provide more funding for the College above and beyond the state budget.
          Over the past twenty-five years, the Foundation has cultivated a $31 million endowment which supports scholarships, faculty/student research, academic rewards and endowed lectureships; implemented the Netzer Planned Giving Society which recognizes individuals who name the College in their will or estate plan; enhanced publications such as Reflections and the President’s Report and the Annual Report of Giving, and much more!
          Thanks to the people who have donated their time and their money, the College at Oneonta Foundation has become part of the tradition of excellence at the College, celebrating the 20^th and 25^th anniversary of the Foundation. The continued commitment from board members, alumni, faculty members, donors, and friends of the College, will keep the Foundation strong as it moves into the future.
