Services

CECD applies the human and physical resources of the College with local business and community organizations.

Leadership Training

This participatory model taps networks in the Otsego County community for collaborative problem-solving. Leaders in a changing environment must inspire others so they may lead as well.

Grants Writing

The CECD has researched and written several successful grant applications on behalf of Oneonta area municipalities and non-profit organizations totalling more than $1.5 million.

Community & Organization Surveys

Planning and in-field survey assistance using a variety of methods such as focus groups, mail surveys, telephone surveys, and interview-based surveys. These help in preparing strategic plans and assessing public opinion about key concerns or initiatives.

Meeting and Project Facilitation

Facilitate meetings off campus or on campus in the excellent meeting, lodging, and catering facilities of the Morris Conference Center. Productive sessions draw on the skills of CECD staff to plan and conduct special meetings and staff retreats.

Use research-based methods to help people in organizations learn to solve problems by seeing and seizing opportunities, and to constantly improve this process.

Downtown Economic Development

Working primarily with the City of Oneonta, the CECD has provided insight and analysis for this traditional business district, including a strategic plan and subsequent merchant surveys.
