CECD services help link the human and physical resources of the College
with business and community organizations to promote economic and community
development. The CECD coordinates a wide array of resources and
services for the purpose of linking education, research and public service including:

The objective is to create a participatory and inclusive model that taps networks to use knowledge in collaborative ways. Leaders in a changing environment must inspire others so they may lead under new conditions.

The CECD has researched and written several successful grant applications on behalf of Oneonta area municipalities recently totalling $1.5 million.
Planning and in-field survey assistance using a variety of methods such as
focus groups, mail surveys, telephone surveys, and interview-based surveys. These help prepare strategic plans and
assess public opinion regarding key concerns or initiatives.

Working primarily with the City of Oneonta, the CECD has provided insight and analysis for this traditional business district, including a strategic plan and subsequent merchant surveys.

meetings off campus or on campus in the excellent meeting, lodging, and
catering facilities of the Morris Conference Center. Highly productive sessions draw on the skills of
Center staff to plan and conduct special meetings and staff retreats.
