Center for Economic & Community Development / FACULTY & STUDENTS Vibrant Community Faculty Grant Program (click to download the 2012 Application: MS Word; Adobe Acrobat) Two SUNY Oneonta faculty members received a total of $5,000 during the pilot year (FY2011-12) for research to enhance the local region. One will examine water resources and another will study student success factors. Generally, CECD projects aim to improve the area economy and quality of life by creating and transferring relevant knowledge as faculty, staff and students engage with the places around the College. The number of awards and amount of each award each year is contingent on the number of competitive proposals received as reviewed by CECD staff and an external review committee. The awards require partnership with CECD to help with feedback to the community. For information on other opportunities, visit the Grants Development Office. Student Interns The CECD accepts up to two student interns each semester to work on community-oriented projects. Recent interns have examined local non-profit filings, municipal finances, healthcare and other human service needs, SUNY economic development initiatives, village demographic and economic trends, and the scholarship of drug treatment courts.
