Leadership Otsego

"Building collaborative leadership"

Leadership Otsego brings together community members to help future leaders address challenges and opportunities in Otsego County, NY.

The current program is underway, August 2009 - June 2010. Please let us know if you are interested in joining a future class.

Goals:
  • build social capital through communication and experiences outside daily routines
  • see opportunities in challenges
  • involve others in the change process
  • direct knowledge, imagination and energy toward enterprises that benefit this community
Benefits:
  • heightens awareness of key challenges to the community
  • strengthens critical thinking and communication skills
  • allows people to become better acquainted with their region
  • adds to a professional network of contacts (customers, suppliers, collaborators, clusters, new markets)

The monthly program begins with an orientation retreat, followed by full-day sessions at sites in Otsego County (NY). Sessions include lectures with Q & A, panel discussions, tours, and workshops. A final project presentation shows how participants may use their new knowledge and skills.
