Center for Economic and Community Development

"A community resource linking education, research and service"

The Center for Economic & Community Development (CECD) is a research and problem-solving resource to enhance the SUNY College at Oneonta and the surrounding region.

Projects seek to improve education attainment, public safety, social capital, health, public infrastructure, area median income and civic capacity. 

The CECD does this by applying College resources to create mutually beneficial partnerships.  The results are quality information on challenges facing people, organizations and municipalities; data-driven plans for change; and networks of community leaders.

Established in 1990, the CECD is part of the Division of College Advancement which works to strengthen the resources of the College by raising the sights of others.
