Telecommunications Policies

Terms and Conditions
The College at Oneonta
agrees to furnish an authorization code to be used for local and long
distance telephone service subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. The applicant agrees to pay for all calls made using the authorization
code issued by the College by the 22nd of the following month in which the
calls were made.
2. Telecom bills are produced on the first business day of each month.
Bills include charges incurred during the previous month and are due by the
close of business on the 22nd. If an account is $10.00 or greater as
of the close of business on the 22nd, a hold will be placed on the
applicant's college records until their account is paid in full.
Additionally, if an account is $100.00 or greater as of the close of
business on the 28th, the applicant's authorization code will be deactivated
without further notice.
3. If an authorization code is deactivated due to nonpayment, the
account must be paid in full and a reactivation fee of $25.00 must be
paid before the authorization code is reactivated.
4. If a check is returned, the applicant will be required to make
payment in cash, charge, Dragon Dollars or by certified check including
a $20.00 fee.
5. Replacement or additional copies of bills are available at a cost of
$1.00 per page.
6. Fraudulent use of any communication service is a misdemeanor under the
penal codes of New York and is punishable by up to one year imprisonment
and/or a $1,000.00 fine. In addition, the College may assess a $100 fee.
7. Telecom rates are viewable on-line at www.oneonta.edu/telecomm and are subject to change without notice.
8. 900 service and certain billable 800 numbers are blocked and are not
available. If the College is billed for an 800 or 900 call, the applicant
will be billed by the College and is responsible for the charges. In
addition, the College may charge a fee of $10 for each incident.
9. If a student leaves the College without reconciling his or her account,
the College reserves the right to deduct any amounts due Telecommunications
from pending Financial Aid being processed by Student Accounts.
10. It is the student's responsibility to notify the Telecommunications
Office, if a phone bill is not viewable via the web at www.oneonta.edu/telecomm by the 15th of the month.
11. It is the student's responsibility to notify the Registrar's Office when
address information changes (i.e., Permanent address, Campus address, ect.).
12. It is the student's responsibility to notify the Telecommunications
Office if he or she has not received a Student Calling Guide To
Telecommunications Services.
13. It is the student's responsibility to cancel his or her authorization
code in writing, via the web at www.oneonta.edu/telecomm, or in person (College ID is required). Failure to notify the
Telecommunications Office results in continued responsibility.
