Frequently Asked Questions

Q) Should I share my access code with my roommate?
A) NO! Do not share your code with anyone - not even your roommate. You are responsible for any and all calls charged to your code. Do not leave it out where people can see it. Keep it in a safe and secure location. You will keep the same code year after year. Please notify the Telecommunications Department if you no longer attend SUNY Oneonta so that we may deactivate your code.

Q) Can my parents pay my telecommunications bill?
A) Your phone bill will be viewable via the web after the 1st business day of each month. It is your responsibility to make sure that the bill is paid by the due date. Your parents are welcome to pay the bill but are under no obligation to do so. You are the person billed and you are responsible for payment.

Q) How and where can I pay my telecommunications bill?
A) You can pay your bill with cash, check, money order, "Dragon Dollars" or with MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card. All cash and Dragon Dollar payments must be made at the Telecommunication's window located at 237 Netzer Administration building, 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. You may pay via the web with MasterCard, Visa, or Discover Card via our on-line websystem "Telecommunications On-Line."  Other forms of payment can be made at the office, in our drop box located outside of room 236 in the Administration building, or through intra-campus mail. No two party checks or telephone coupons will be accepted.

Q) What happens if I do not pay my bill by the due date?
A) Telecom bills are produced on the first business day of each month and are due by the close of business on the 22nd.  If an account is $10.00 or greater as of the close of business on the 22nd, a hold will be placed on the applicant's college records until their account is paid in full.  Additionally, if an account is $100.00 or greater as of the close of business on the 28th, the applicant's authorization code will be deactivated without further notice.
