ALL COLLEGE HONORSUpon graduation, a College at Oneonta honors degree may be awarded to students who complete 60 semester hours of Oneonta course work, including 45 graded (A-E) hours. Courses taken pass/fail are not counted in the 45 graded hour requirement.Three categories of honors degrees are:
DEPARTMENTAL HONORSA degree with honors in an academic area is awarded to students who have completed at least 24 s.h. of course work at the College with a minimum 3.5 GPA, if recommended by the department concerned. Transfer students must complete 18 s.h. in the major at the College at Oneonta and maintain a 3.5 GPA or better for department honors. Students may not qualify for department honors in an academic area for which they have not registered as a major. For students enrolled in an Elementary Education
Program, Education is considered the major academic area. For
students enrolled in a Secondary Education Program, the academic
field (Biology, Business Economics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences,
English, Foreign Language, Human Ecology, Mathematics, Physics,
Social Science) is considered the major academic area. |
