In compliance with the federal law, Title 11 "Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act", the SUNY College at Oneonta provides reports about campus safety and security programs, incidents of crime on campus, and information regarding registered sex offenders. Information concerning registered sex offenders is transmitted to the campus by the DCJS (New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services) and may be obtained from the Chief of Police, c/o University Police Department, and also on the University Police website as stated above.

The State University of New York College at Oneonta is a four-year arts and sciences college with a pre-professional focus, offering liberal arts and professional programs at undergraduate and master's levels. The College, with 5500 students and 225 full-time faculty, is located in the scenic Catskill Mountains, three and one-half hours from New York City.
