DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI AFFAIRS
(SENIOR STAFF ASSOCIATE)

The SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Director of Alumni Affairs in the Division of College Advancement. Reporting to the Vice President for College Advancement, the Director of Alumni Affairs will be responsible for providing strategic direction for every aspect of alumni relations programs. This position ensures the implementation of the mission of the College at Oneonta Alumni Association in partnership with the College at Oneonta Foundation, colleagues in the Division, and the Office of Alumni Affairs staff.

Responsibilities: Plan and direct programs that engage alumni to meet the College’s alumni relations and fundraising goals; provide executive leadership to the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors; oversee transition to a new Alumni Welcome Center; manage alumni and campus volunteers; develop and oversee alumni print and electronic publications; supervise development of special programming for students and young alumni; administer alumni database; establish annual operating strategies and budgets; work with all alumni and campus constituencies to build community and enhance diversity and inclusion; travel to fulfill duties of the position.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; management experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or public relations and marketing; successful experiences in management, program development, and event planning; excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; strong computer skills and knowledge of database software; ability to travel nationally; and work effectively with students and volunteers.

Preferred: Five years’ experience in above fields; experience in University/College Advancement.
