The SICAS Center at SUNY Oneonta provides software, services, and solutions for administrative computing needs for a growing consortium of SUNY institutions. The Center works closely with college administrative professionals to provide consulting, training, and customer support as well as developing software enhancements to the SunGard Higher Education Banner software system. SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
(SENIOR PROGRAMMER/ANALYST)

(#2077-M) The Center is seeking a responsible, customer service oriented individual to provide application database support for SUNY campuses. This includes performing software installs and upgrades to an Oracle based SunGardHE Banner software system; installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Banner applications, and providing direct customer oriented support for Oracle and Banner technical issues. This position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to display good judgment and perception in decision making. Some evening and/or weekend work is required. Some flexibility in location is available. The job is either located in Oneonta at the SICAS Center or at another SUNY institution.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 4 years of technical experience supporting Banner and/or Oracle DBA experience OR an Associate’s degree with 5 to 6 years of similar experience that demonstrates increasing responsibility.

Preferred: Experience with SunGard Higher Education Banner Information System Software; system administration knowledge or understanding of UNIX, OpenVMS, and/or Windows operating systems; installation and management experience working with Oracle Application Server; and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
