DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY The Department of Philosophy at the SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Lecturer, starting August 2008. This non-tenure track position has an initial appointment of one year with the possibility of renewal. The expectations include teaching, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development. The College at Oneonta enrolls more than 5,800 students with 475 faculty and offers 69 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate programs. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 17:1. AOS open; AOC open. The department seeks a candidate with strengths in Asian philosophy and/or Aesthetics. The department also has needs in Critical Thinking, Philosophy of Feminism, Applied Ethics and Philosophy of Law. Normal teaching load: 4 courses per semester. Required Qualifications: A.B.D. Preferred: Ph.D. or equivalent. Review of applications will begin immediately.
