DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS, COMPUTER SCIENCE & STATISTICS
LECTURER – STATISTICS/MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Statistics at the SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Lecturer, starting August 2008. This non-tenure track position has an initial appointment of one year with the possibility of renewal. The expectations include instruction, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development. The Department offers major and minor programs in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. The College at Oneonta enrolls more than 5,800 students with 475 faculty and offers 69 undergraduate majors and nine graduate programs. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 17:1.

Qualifications Required: Ph.D. in Statistics or Mathematics is required at time of appointment (A.B.D. will be considered).

Preferred: Demonstrated collegiate teaching excellence; interest in teaching introductory undergraduate courses in Statistics and Mathematics; and ability to teach diverse courses in undergraduate Statistics and Mathematics major programs.
