MATHEMATICS, COMPUTER SCIENCE & STATISTICS DEPARTMENT
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Statistics at the SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of August 2008. This is a continuing position with an initial appointment of two years. The expectations include instruction, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development. The Department offers major and minor programs in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. The College at Oneonta has 5,800 students and 450 faculty and offers over 60 undergraduate majors and nine graduate programs. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 18:1.

Qualifications Required: Ph.D. in Computer Science is required at time of appointment (A.B.D. will be considered).

Preferred: Strength in theory of computing, human computer interaction, and/or parallel and distributed systems; demonstrated collegiate teaching excellence; and ability to teach diverse courses in an undergraduate Computer Science major program.
