ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – ACCOUNTING

The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting at the SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of accounting beginning August 2008. This is a continuing position with an initial appointment of two years. The College at Oneonta enrolls more than 5,800 students with 475 faculty and offers 69 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate programs. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 17:1. Duties: Teach undergraduate accounting courses, research leading to publications in refereed journals, advise students, college service, and continuing professional development.

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate degree (all-but-dissertation near completion of degree will be considered) in accounting or earned masters degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of two years current, high level professional experience in accounting.

Preferred: Ability to teach financial accounting courses. College teaching experience, a record of published research in the area, and professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or CMA.
