The Employee Services Area includes four departments with a total of sixteen (16) employees. The departments are Human Resources, Employment Opportunities, Payroll and Mail Services. The departments within the Employee Services area continue to play a significant leadership and partnership role for the College in the areas of Quality of Campus Life and Diversity and Inclusion, as well as providing contributions in the area of Academic Quality. The mission of the departments within Employee Services is to provide quality customer service. Our definition of quality customer service includes, but is not limited to, providing support to supervisors and employees in interpreting and implementing the bargaining unit agreements that govern the six (6) Unions that represent the majority of state employees; recruitment of all faculty, professional, and staff positions; accurate and timely processing of employee transactions and documents; ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, SUNY, College rules, regulations, and policies that govern employment within the State of New York and SUNY and providing professional development opportunities. This year, we have begun to offer professional development opportunities that we hope will enhance both the quality of an employee's work life and their personal life. One example is the recent Campus-wide Employee Wellness Fair. Non-profit organizations within the community partnered with us in hosting the Fair. Representatives from organizations such as Hospice, American Cancer Society, and Opportunities for Otsego brought pamphlets and other materials that explained the services they provided. In addition, representatives were available to speak with individual employees about their specific needs. A total of 20 organizations participated. The Fair also included presentations on topics such as dealing with stress and balancing your work and personal life. The Wellness Fair was a great success due to the support provided by both the community organizations and the campus administration. Employee Services is one part of the Finance & Administration team. We are committed to ensuring that SUNY Oneonta continues to be a campus of choice for both students and employees. Human Resources
