Technology: The College at Oneonta has long recognized the importance of technology in our society. That's why the College is leading the SUNY system in making computer technology part of every student's education. Our faculty incorporates technology into their teaching at a far higher rate than the national average, using the Internet, computer-based classrooms, e-mail, and web pages. Through our computer labs in every academic building and residence hall, we ensure that all students have access to computers that will meet their academic needs. Our robust campus-wide network enables students to use the web for everything from conducting research to registering for classes.

Administrative technology support is comprised of four major areas; Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Services and IT Security. The opportunities that these areas create for the campus as a whole, whether it be new applications, stronger IT security, faster Internet access, informative web pages, wireless network access, training, routine call handling, directory services, or billing, etc., all contribute to the overall institutional excellence that the College at Oneonta is recognized for. The collective outcomes of our various projects, initiatives, and services promote the Division’s mission and we continue to position ourselves to meet the known and future challenges in supporting the goals identified in the College Comprehensive Plan.

Business Services: The Business Services area provides assistance for Faculty and Staff with purchasing, contracts, facilities-use permits, tax issues and all legal matters. The Office of Student Accounts provides billing, collection, and financial aid disbursements.

Business Services and Students Accounts continue to enhance customer service by offering quality electronic and personal services to provide access to financial information and perform financial transactions, adding to a positive customer experience at SUNY Oneonta.

In addition, Business Services is responsible for coordinating summer camps and related programs. This activity has brought additional revenue to the campus, introduced hundreds of potential recruits to campus, and has a positive economic impact in the greater Oneonta area.

Sponsored Programs: Sponsored Programs Research and Grants at the College at Oneonta are administered through the Research Foundation of SUNY. The Research Foundation operation at Oneonta is handled at the pre-award stage by the Grants Development Office, and at the post-award stage by the Sponsored Programs Office. These offices provide this support in accordance with federal, sponsor, Research Foundation, SUNY and campus guidelines.

Sponsored programs functions delegated to the campus are conducted under the supervision of the Research Foundation Operations Manager, who is appointed by the Foundation's Board on the recommendation of the campus president.
