Welcome to the Homepage for the Cooperstown-Hartwick Consumer Survey! This survey is designed to learn about the perceptions and satisfaction with the type of attractions and services available in the Greater Cooperstown area. This data will be published by CSSR in Fall 2008, and will be of use to policy makers and community groups interested in future community and economic development. The survey is being administered along the "strip" in the Town of Hartwick, but the survey is designed to measure perceptions of the Cooperstown area as a whole.
There are other studies currently being conducted in the local area. This study is designed to augment these other studies, thus giving local leaders an additional tool in making policy decisions. The principal investigator, Dr. Alex Thomas, is also a member of the Town of Hartwick Planning Board and the Comprehensive Planning Commission being formed in the Town of Hartwick. Although this study is not affiliated with the Town of Hartwick, this connection will result in the survey results being utilized in future planning for the Hartwick "strip" and the town as a whole.
Unlike the other studies, the Cooperstown-Hartwick Consumer Survey seeks data with the opinions of both local residents and visitors to the area can be examined and compared.
