ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - New Line as of April 10, 2008 The Department of Sociology at the SUNY College at Oneonta
invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of
Assistant Professor with a start date of August
2008. The expectations include instruction, research, student
advisement, college service, and continuing professional
development. The College at Oneonta enrolls more than 5,800 students
with 475 faculty and offers 69 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate
programs. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 17:1. The
Department of Sociology is home to growing majors in Sociology,
Criminal Justice, and Gerontology Studies as well as minors in
Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Gerontology. Duties:
Teach courses in Deviance and Criminology, including Drugs
& Society, Violence in Relationships, and Juvenile Delinquency.
Qualifications Required: Ph.D. (ABD will be
considered). Preferred: Conversant in issues related to
