2008-2009 Announcements


Elections for Faculty Officers and open Faculty Committee Positions has now ended. Check back soon to find out the results of the voting.


The Calendar Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, April 15 to discuss the 2011-2012 Academic Calendar. The committee will be reviewing three separate calendar options (below) to decide which one (or a combination) is best.

The Calendar Committee membership is composed of the President of the College, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Presiding Officer of the Faculty, the Faculty Senator, the President of the Student Association, and the chairs of the remaining Standing Faculty Committees.


At the March 16th meeting of the College Senate, the Committee on Instruction presented data from the recent Faculty Survey on the Student Perception of Instruction instrument, followed by recommendations of the committee. These recomendations will be coming before the College Senate at a future meeting. Click here to view the presentation.


At the March 16th meeting, the College Senate heard a presentation by Steve Perry and Patty Francis regarding the data from the recent National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Click here to view the presentation.

The SUNY University Faculty Senate ad hoc Committee on Professional Behavior, Ethical Conduct and Institutional Integrity is currently conducting a survey regarding ethics "as they relate to faculty, students, administrators and other personnel in SUNY and higher education." The College Senate formally endorsed the Academic Integrity Policy at the March 2nd meeting. Click on the following link to view or download the revised policy.


At the Dec. 8th meeting, the College Senate formally endorsed the Action Plan for Planning and Assessment with some amendments. To view the revised version of the Plan that was endorsed by the College Senate, follow the link below.

At the January 26th meeting, the College Senate formally approved the Distance Learning Policy presented, with revision, by the Committee on Distance Learning (a joint committee of the Committee on Instruction and Committee on Technology). To view the policy, follow the link below.
