Farmer's Museum is a superb recreation of village and rural 1820's upstate
New York with working agricultural and handwork crafts demonstrations and
displays. Fenimore House, across the road, houses a fine arts museum of
1800's New York artists, furniture, and a recently-added extensive Indian

- Iroquois Indian Museum, Howe's Cave, a museum of Iroquois Indian
history and art, with children's activities and nature trails, (47 miles
northeast of Oneonta on Interstate-88, take exit 22, go right on Route 7

- Howe Caverns,well-developed commercial tour site with elevator
descending into limestone cave, just up the road beyond the Iroquois Indian
Museum, listed above.
- Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project, Museum and Visitor
Center, New York Power Authority, museum of technology and geology relevant
to electric power and pumped storage, and adjacent restored 19th century
farmhouse (40 miles east of Oneonta on Route 23, turn north on Route 30
