Dr. James Preston, Chair of the Religious Studies Program, has conducted
extensive field work for the last seventeen years on a Native American devotion
to a future Catholic saint. This research has involved hundreds of
interview with both Indian and non-Indian Catholics from around the world.
He has paid special attention to the devotion to Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha among
Mohawks at Kahnawake, Quebec, and St. Regis Akwasasne, New York. |
