The Psychology Department
includes eight full-time faculty and a number of adjunct faculty. The
department is proud of its reputation for excellence
in teaching. Four members of the department are recipients of the SUNY
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and two have been promoted
to the rank of SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor, the highest recognition
for teaching in the State University of New York system. All members of the department consider teaching their highest priority.
Members of the department are also involved in research. Their research
programs are designed to involve students as research assistants
and/or collaborators, giving advanced psychology majors valuable professional
experience.
