Because of the popularity of the Department, we have established
our own preregistration procedure, which allows psychology majors to
register for some psychology courses before the regular college registration
process begins.
In order to be sure you get the classes you need and the classes you
want, there are several things you should do:
1. See your academic advisor. Make an appointment early. The time just
preceding preregistration is often a very busy one, and you should not
expect that your advisor will be available if you do not make an appointment
in advance.
2. Attend the Psychology Department
General Advisement Meeting. This
meeting occurs before pre-registration each semester. At it, departmental
requirements are reviewed, faculty are introduced, information is presented
about planning your schedule, and materials for the departmental preregistration
procedure are presented. Watch your e-mail and departmental bulletin
boards for announcements about this meeting, and be sure to attend.
3. Participate in the departmental
pre-registration procedure. That procedure
allows psychology majors to be placed in psychology courses before the
general college registration process begins. Be sure to fill out and
submit the request forms before our departmental deadline, because this
can greatly increase your chances of getting into the courses you want.
| You must have all holds cleared from your record in order for us to be able to pre-register you in courses. If you
have holds from overdue library books or for any other reason, you
must get them cleared before you can take advantage of this pre-registration procedure. |
| Don't miss important announcements about program requirements, special courses being offered, job and internship opportunities, special meetings, and more. Be sure to register your preferred e-mail address with the college, and check your e-mail regularly for annoucements from the department. |
