Washington D.C. Internships Info Session—All Majors Welcome
Monday 10/3, 1 p.m., in Schumacher 12
John Fitzpatrick, Director of SUNY Brockport Washington Program, is coming to campus to give an overview of the program, placements, costs, and housing and to answer student questions. These are supervised, full-time, full-semester, professional-level placements in federal executive agencies, Congress, federal courts, non-profits organizations, and interest groups. Students can earn 6 credits in the summer or 15 credits in the fall or spring semesters. The program is very affordable and open to all majors. The Spring semester application deadline is November 30; the Summer semester deadline is April 15.

Rob DiCarlo, Assistant Director of Career Services at SUNY Brockport comes to the campus to talk about the importance of internships and to recruit for the Public Service Internship Program (formerly the Albany Semester Program). The PSIP works with SUNY students to help place them in internships with state government primarily in the Capital Region. A variety of paid and unpaid internships are available. The program is open to all majors, but is especially relevant to Political Science and Social Science majors. Rob can also answer questions regarding the Washington Semester Program which is also coordinated by SUNY Brockport.

Local and Regional Internships
A limited number of local internship placements are possible throughout the academic year. These internships consist of a strong
academic component in addition to a fixed number of hours in the
placement setting. Students involved in a local internship can earn
1-3 semester hours of course credit.
