The Science Discovery Center (SDC) is a 3000 square-foot hands-on physical science museum located in the basement of the Physical Science Building. The founding director, Mr. Alber Read, opened the SDC in 1990 and worked with his family and the college to establish an edowment to support the SDC. The endowment provides two scholarships for students in science education who show a strong affinity for encouraging creative hands-on exploration in their teaching. Contact Dr. Paul French for more information.

Other opportunities exist for students to assist in campus laboratory and/or research activities if their interests coincide with current faculty efforts. Some of our students have also obtained prestigious summer internships at other universities and at national labs to further enhance their undergraduate preparations. A significant advantage of our program is the availability of dedicated faculty to provide individualized attention to student needs.
