Sports Management

            This minor is open to all undergraduates, and consists of courses related to the management of athletics. Consult with Physical Education and Business faculty members for additional information and suggested sequences. Students planning to complete requirements for this minor should declare their intentions at an early point to facilitate advisement. Forms for this purpose are available from the Physical Education Department, Chase PE Rm. 200. Call 436-3595.

NOTES:

  1. Although not required, students enrolled in this minor are strongly urged to take course work in computer technology to prepare them for the demands of the workplace.
  2. College rules pertaining to curriculum majors also apply to curriculum minors (cumulative GPA of a 2.00 in courses applied toward minor; no Pass/Fail option grading in courses applied toward minor, residence requirement; etc.)  WARNING - only 6 s.h. are allowed to overlap between your major and the minor.  Business majors need to check their requirements carefully!
  3. Check proper course sequence and prerequisites with department advisor.
  4. Students may also achieve a N.Y.S. Coaching Certificate with this minor.  Information is available in the Physical Education Main Office, Chase P.E. Rm. 200.
  5. Students who are from majors outside of the Division of Economics and Business are not permitted to earn more than 30 credit hours from the Division of Economics and Business.  Therefore, students enrolling in this minor should exercise great caution in combining this minor with certain majors (i.e., Music Industry, Food Service and Restaurant Administration, and Computer Science/Business Option) or minors (Business Communication, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business or International Business).
