General Education

General Education requirements are designed to help students acquire the keys to unlock the richness of a modern university. The foundation they establish helps guide choice of major, provides contextual background and skills necessary for more advanced courses, and insures that all students receive a balanced well-rounded education. More specifically, the requirements:

Because education can and often does occur on more than one level, requirements are divided into the primary categories of perspectives and skills. Overlap between the two categories is extensive and unrestricted. Courses with both types of attributes satisfy both types of requirements. Additionally, overlap of 6 s.h. is permitted between General Education and requirements of specific fields (majors, minors, etc):
