Meet Our Staff
John Schaumloffel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. He received his B.A. degree in Natural Sciences from Castleton State College, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from Washington State University. His research interests lie in the detection and cycling of trace and toxic elements in freshwater organisms, lakes, rivers, etc. He has been active on campus in seeking funding to increase the number of students pursuing degrees in the sciences as well as the use of advanced scientific instrumentation in the undergraduate curriculum. His recent sabbatical at a major generic pharmaceutical manufacturer has provided him insight and experience in how analytical chemistry and the sciences in general are put to use in helping people cure and manage disease and injury.
Paul J. Bischoff is Professor of Science Education at SUNY-Oneonta. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology Education at Monmouth College Paul served as a Peace Corps Volunteer Science Teacher in Botswana Africa for over 3 years.
