The State University of New York-College at Oneonta Robert Noyce Scholars Program is funded by the National Science Foundation. The program is specifically designed to prepare science majors with the skills necessary to be successful in teaching in high need rural and urban schools. Selected scholars will be awarded approximately $13,000 both junior and senior year to cover fuzll tuition and many support fees such as dormitory expenses and meal plans. Robert Noyce Scholars will be dual majors in their chosen Science Discipline and Education and will earn New York State Teacher Certification.
Upon graduation scholarship recipients are required to complete four years of teaching in high need rural or urban schools. Many school districts in New York’s rural and urban areas meet the State University of New York-College at Oneonta Robert Noyce Scholars definition of high need. |
