A Music Industry Internship is required for all students enrolled in the Music Industry Bachelor of Arts degree program at the State University of New York College at Oneonta. This program prepares students for entry level work in a variety of careers in
the music and entertainment industry, including
· Music management
· Marketing
· Promotion
· Merchandising
· Publishing
· Production and performance
· Related entertainment fields

The curriculum includes specialized Music Industry studies in the
· Recording industry
· Entertainment industry
· Business affairs
· Legal Issues
· Music products
· Music theory
· Performance and
· History/literature

The Music Industry Program requires 4 semester hours of internship credit. To earn this credit the student must serve 400 “work” hours at the internship site. These credits may be earned at more than one internship site and do not have to be earned all in one academic term.

Interns work under the direct supervision of a designated employee of the host institution in order to gain professional experience.
